Welder

Washington, IL

Under general supervision, welder shall be able to set up and operate manual welders, produce quality parts in an efficient and timely manner and maintain a clean and safe work area.

1. Ability to produce less complicated parts to print without fixturing and minimal supervision.
2. Ability to produce parts using fixture, prints and setup sheets.
3. Ability to set-up and tack parts for others using fixturing so that parts can be welded in an efficient and timely manner.
4. Maintain a clean and safe work area.
5. Able to use computer to clock self in and out.
6. Above average knowledge in welding and torching.
7. Some knowledge in distortion control.
8. Non conformance rate from inspection above shop average.
9. Ability to use and maintain AWS and CWB WPS manuals.
10. Perform other work related duties as needed with little supervision.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: The minimum level of education and experience required to perform the job. The specific minimum competencies required for job performance.
• High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience and Skills Required: Qualified candidates will have at least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment to include the following skills and abilities:
• Ability to pass AWS and CWB welding qualifications tests.
• Minimum of 3 years welding and fabrication experience.
• Knowledgeable in welding and fabrication.
• Knowledgeable in blueprint and weld symbolizes.
• Some understanding of working with ISO and routing processes.
