Tube Laser Setup/Operator-Detroit Lakes

Summary:
Under general supervision, sets up and operates the tube laser and insures the production of quality parts. Inspects parts and adjusts the tube laser as required for a safe and efficient operation.

Essential Functions:
1. Visualizes and interprets blue prints and sketches.
2. Manufactures parts to blue prints and/or sketches using Operator Inspection Instructions (OII) as guide.
3. Inspects parts produced as instructed by Operator Inspection Instructions (OII), lead person or supervisor using inspection tools such as tape measure, calipers, protractors, height gage and micrometer and document findings.
4. Sets-up and programs the tube bender and makes necessary adjustments to insure the production of quality parts.
5. Adjusts to changing production requirements.
6. Analyzes, trouble shoot sand resolves problems with the tube laser as required.
7. Assists with the training of operators as required.
8. Performs the duties as specified on the Daily Maintenance/Safety Checklist for equipment being operated.
9. Maintains a clean and safe work area.
10. Uses Axapta software programs to enter time/payroll information, job information, etc.
11. Participates in the training of apprentice in the apprentice program.

Experience and Skills Required:
1. At least one and a half years of related mechanical and shop experience which includes the following skills and abilities:
2. Ability to organize and run work in a timely and effective manner.
3. Strong working knowledge of the production process and tube laser machines.
4. Strong working knowledge of the equipment, materials, methods and practices used in production machining/forming operations.
5. Strong working knowledge of related safety requirements to include proper use of safety equipment and proper safety precautions such as switches, etc.
6. Ability to understand, follow and issue routine oral and written instructions.
7. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
