Summary:
1. With assistance, visualizes and designs basic dies and simple fixtures with the use of computer software.
Essential Functions:
1. With assistance, analyzes parts-bends and extrudes, using and including all views from the blueprint.
2. With assistance, utilizes (but not limited to) computer software to design parts and die designs.
3. Uses templates in the CAD environment expedite the design process.
4. Utilizes setback for unfolding flat blanks.
5. Utilizes trigonometry in die design.
6. Seeks the input of others and observes tooling in action, in order to better understand die functions.
7. With assistance, designs components, gaining an understanding of how the components can be machined or manufactured.
8. With assistance, designs to incorporate the safe, efficient and ergonomic operation of the press operator, using their input to design more effectively.
9. With assistance, organizes and maintains files.
10. Designs components within the parameters of the EDM machine.
11. With assistance, designs parts for the Fabrication Department.
12. With assistance, organizes and prioritizes workload.
13. Uses Axapta software programs to enter time/payroll information, job information, etc.

Experience and Skills Required:
1. Recent related mechanical and shop experience preferred, which includes the following skills and abilities:
2. Knowledge of the tooling process and machining equipment.
3. Knowledge of the operation of presses, pressbrakes, laser, and turret machines, which aid in the ability to effectively design around them.
4. Knowledge of the equipment, materials, methods and practices used in production jig and fixture operations.
5. Ability to understand, follow and issue routine oral and written instructions.
6. Knowledge of related safety requirements to include proper use of safety equipment and proper safety precautions.
7. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
