Hand Welder - Lakeville Fab

Summary: Under general supervision, operates the manual welder and inspects/ensures the production of quality parts. Inspects parts, helps with design of jigs and fixtures for a safe and efficient operation.

Promptly reports injuries for prompt diagnosis and treatment. 3) Makes regular suggestions for safety process improvements to support continuous improvement in safety.

Essential Functions:
1. Ability to visualize and interpret blue prints and sketches.
2. Manufacture quality parts by using whatever tools are available.
3. Ability to use and assist other in the measuring of parts with the proper inspection equipment (calipers, height gauge, etc.
4. Ability to set up a cell properly. Including welder settings, proper cell setup to produce quality parts at an efficient rate.
5. Ability to adjust to changes in production requirements. Ability to acknowledge problems with the welder and troubleshoot to get the problem fixed
6. Maintain a clean and safe work area by following the clean-up schedule.
7. Uses Axapta software programs to enter time/payroll information, job information, etc.

Experience and Skills Required:
1. At least two years of wire welding and other related mechanical and shop experience which includes the following skills and abilities:
2. Ability to organize and run work in a timely and effective manner.
3. Strong working knowledge of the production process and wire welders.
4. Strong working knowledge of the equipment, materials, methods and practices used in production welding operation.
5. Strong working knowledge of related safety requirements to include proper use of safety equipment and proper safety precautions such as lights, guards, switches, etc.
6. Ability to understand, follow and issue routine oral and written instructions.
7. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
8. The qualifications listed above are guidelines. Other combinations of education and experience could provide necessary knowledge , skills and abilities to perform this job.
