Factory Production Rises While Consumers and Businesses Spend

December marked a month of growth for the manufacturing sector. Output made its biggest gains since December 2010 at a rate of .9%. Consumers and businesses were also spending more, which will likely lead to heightened payrolls and hours for manufacturing employees. Economists continue to project that manufacturing will keep increasing and help the U.S. economy recover.
